  • Earns a flat 1.5% cash back on net purchases with no cap. Balance transfers, cash advances, fees and interest don't earn. Cash rewards don't expire while the account is open; if the account is closed by you or for inactivity, you have 90 days to redeem them.
  • BofA Rewards bonus (Bank of America's relationship program, formerly Preferred Rewards): enrolled members with a Bank of America checking account get a bonus on this card's cash back of 10% at the Member tier (no minimum balance), 25% at Preferred Plus ($30,000+ in combined Bank of America deposit and Merrill investment balances), 50% at Preferred Honors ($100,000+) or 75% at Premier ($1,000,000+). That turns 1.5% into 1.65%, 1.875%, 2.25% or 2.625%. The bonus doesn't apply to the welcome bonus. The simulation uses the standard 1.5% everyone gets, so members earn more than shown.
  • Intro APR: 0% for the first 15 statement closing dates (billing cycles), shown here as 15 months. It covers purchases and balance transfers made within 60 days of opening.
  • Balance transfer fee is 3% for transfers made within 60 days of opening, then 5%. The disclosure lists no dollar minimum, so transferFeeMin is 0. BTs can't pay off other Bank of America accounts.
  • Regular APR: 17.74% to 27.74% variable, from the pricing disclosure using prime 7.0% as of 09/30/2026. Cash advance APR is 20.74%-28.74% (direct deposit/check) or 29.49% (bank cash advances), and the cash advance fee is 5%. A late payment can trigger a penalty APR of up to 29.99% on new transactions. The late fee is up to $41.
  • Foreign transaction fee: 3% of each transaction made in a foreign currency.
  • Redeem cash rewards as a statement credit, a deposit to a Bank of America checking or savings account, a credit to a Merrill Cash Management Account or Merrill 529 account, or at Amazon.com and PayPal checkout. One-time deposits and statement credits have no minimum; automatic deposits and 529 contributions need $25.
  • The Monthly Custom Pay Plan fee is up to 1.72% of the plan amount.
